Good morning guys!

I'm so excited! To celebrate National Scrapbook Day, Saturday, May 2nd, I'm having my first contest and giving away blog candy! The winner gets a Martha Stewart eyelet lace border punch.

Here's all you have to do to enter:

Answer 2 questions correctly. Post your name and your answers to the 2 questions, in the comment section. On Saturday, I'll draw from all names with 2 correct answers, and post the winners name.

Here are the 2 questions:

1) What site does the "Ready" button on the sidebar link to?

2) How many years have my in-laws been married?

Good Luck, everyone!

"A Little Oriental" Card

Hi everyone, It's a gorgeous day and supposed to be in the 80's! I'm getting everything ready for us to go tonight to the travel trailer on the river, and hopefully we can get in some R&R. We need it bad! I took a little time this morning to make this card. When I saw this BoBunny paper, I thought it had an oriental look to it. Something about the colors and shapes of the flowers, I guess. The stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and the white flower was cut from Cricut's Walk in my Garden cartridge. The Martha Stewart lace border punch (my favorite punch!) was used to cut the black lace border. Have a wonderful, restful weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,

Variation of Black & Pink

Good morning! It's going to be sunny and 80 degrees today! I'm so excited, and hoping that warm weather is really here to stay this time. I've had a long, hard week at work, and I'm so ready for the weekend. We'll probably go to the travel trailer on the river, and flush the antifreeze out of the water lines, and get it stocked and ready for the summer. FUN!

I've been too tired when I get home to make any new cards, so I did a variation on a card I posted last week. I think I like this one better with the new flower and butterfly stamp. And my 230 stamps came from HSN. Love them! Can't wait to get started making some cards with them. There are so many to choose from, that it's going to be hard deciding which one to start with. The little owl stamps are so cute!

I've joined a new message board at http://www.paperwishes.com/ You should check it out. I've made lots of new friends, and seen some great cards and pages that they've done. You get lots of great tips too.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings, ~M~

Rock Star Card

Hi guys! It's a rainy, windy Monday. Yuck! Things are supposed to improve, weatherwise, towards the middle of the week. Hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was busy, as usual, and went too fast, as usual. I did get a minute to try out my new rock star stamp. I also went to Michael's in my quest for more and more stamps, and bought 2 more sets of clear stamps. One is for making calendars, and the other is card sentiments. Then last night I ordered a set of 230 clear stamps from HSN, because it had 2 cute little owl stamps in it. The set does have a LOT of other cute stamps too, but it was the owls that sold me. Can't wait to get them. They're supposed to be here by Thursday. Did any of you check out the TSV on HSN? It's a Cricut Expression with 5 cartridges and a Your Story binding machine. It's a pretty good deal. I have the small Cricut and would love to have the Expression for larger cuts, but right now, I think I'd rather spend the money on stamps...LOL! Anyhoo, here is the rock star card. The inside says "Dad, you rock!". It's a Father's Day card for DH's Dad. I think he'll get a kick out of it, as he still plays the guitar.
Have a good Monday everyone. I'm babysitting later today and tonight is DWTS, so I'll ttyl.
Blessings,
~M~

Black & Pink Mother's Day Card

Good morning! It is gorgeous outside and supposed to be in the 70's today. At last, maybe the cold weather has gone for us. Those poor people out in Colorado are having a snow storm! I hope it's their last one of the season. They need Spring too.
Bless his heart, DH put in the new power supply and fixed my computer. He can fix just about anything. Here is the card I was finally able to put the sentiment on. I used 2 of my new stamps on it and colored it with my new colored pencils. I'm getting into stamping so much, that I went to the scrapbook store yesterday to see what stamps they had, and bought 2 more sets of clear stamps. She was having a 30% off sale and I couldn't stop myself. One set has a guitar stamp and a"You rock" stamp. Couldn't pass that up, LOL! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,

Power Supply Has Arrived!

Hi! The mailman just brought the new power supply for my poor computer. YEA! I am so happy that I'll soon be able to scan and print again. I started a card this morning, but couldn't finish it because I didn't have a way to print the sentiment for the front of the card. It's a Mother's Day card and I don't have a stamp with that greeting. I did, however, get some new clear stamps yesterday, as well as a new Martha Stewart fern punch and lots of new colored pencils. I used 2 of the new stamps on the card I'm working on right now. I'm really liking how it's turning out, and will be glad to get the sentiment printed out, so I can finish it and post it. If DH gets my computer back up and running, I'll post it tonight.
Blessings,
~M~

Ferns and Flower Card

Hi everyone! I'm home from work and since I don't have to cook dinner, I'd thought I'd try to post the card I made this morning. We ate a late lunch at Mi Casita, my favorite Mexican restaurant. I had Chicken Nacho Fajitas, and it was REALLY good!
I used my Martha Stewart lace border punch for the bottom of this card. I love that punch so much, that I'll have to be careful not to use it on every card...LOL! The ferns were done with a Marvy hoki fern punch. This card is small, 4 1/2 x 5, and could be used as a note card, sympathy card or thinking of you card. I've got to get back to making the card kits for the upcoming class...only 3 weeks to go, and I'm no where near done! Yikes, I've got to get busy.
Have a good night! Did anyone go to any "tea parties" today?
Blessings, ~M~

Waiting for a Power Supply

Good morning! After yesterday's heavy rain and thunderstorms, we are waking up to a beautiful sunny day. The wind took most of the blooms off the tulips, but they were just about done anyway.
Yesterday DH looked high and low, but ended up having to order the power supply for my computer. It probably won't be here until the end of this week or first of next week. I'm going to have to hook this laptop up to my printer so I can print the inside of my cards. I had lots of verses and poems saved in the other computer, and I hope they didn't get lost when the power supply burned up. I'll never be able to find them all again. Lots of them were from my card classes at Paper Cutz and I'll be so sad if they are gone. I still miss my store and all the customers. It was fun seeing them and what they were working on...especially at the crops. We alway had lots of fun!
Have a good Tuesday...the tax man cometh tomorrow!
Blessings, ~M~

Oh No! My Computer is Fried!

Good morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Ours was great! We went out for Chinese with DD and family and then came back here for an Easter egg hunt. We had lots of fun! I have some really good photos which I can't post right now. We noticed a burning smell last night coming from our home office. When we checked it out, we found out that the computer I do all my posting on, had burned up! I'm on a laptop right now that doesn't have any of the software for downloading my pictures, no scanner and no printer. DH took the power supply out, and is going to try to get a new one today so he can get my computer up and running again. I won't be able to post any photos or cards 'til it's fixed. Sigh! Until then, you're stuck with my ramblings.
Blessings, ~M~

Christ is Risen!

Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."
Luke 24:46-47

Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
Luke 24:51

Tea Bag Folding - Thank You Card

Good evening! Just finished making an Easter basket for DH...LOL! I cut a popcorn box out using the Cricut cartridge TBBM, filled it with Hersey's kisses, Baby Ruth and 100 Grand miniatures. Then I wrapped it in cellophane and tied it with a big blue bow. He'll love it!

Here is a Thank You card I made using tea bag folding. I think alternating the black and white gingham paper and the red and white patterned paper gives it a dramatic look.

Have a wonderful, peaceful Easter, everyone!

Fancy Fan Card

Good morning! After yesterday's rain and thunderstorms, we are having a gorgeous sunny day. I hope this beautiful weather will stick around for tomorrow's sunrise services and Easter egg hunts.
I'm afraid I didn't do a very good job of photographing this card. It's one I made for a class a while back, and it's much prettier in person than this photo shows. It looks difficult to make, but is fairly easy. It's made using foam tape, a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card blank and a tassel from the fabric store. When I get time, I'll try to put together a tutorial showing how it's made. It could be used for Mother's Day, a birthday, thank you or thinking of you card. Anyway, it's a fun card to make.
Hope you all have a blessed Easter!

Dazzling Daisy Card

Good morning! Can you believe it...we got snow last night! Just about an inch, but snow in April is crazy. Here's hoping it will be gone soon. With thoughts of Spring to drive away the snow, here is a daisy card with a touch of glitter. Could be a touch of snow, right? LOL! Have a great day!

Finally Finished Father's Day Card

Good morning! It is a gorgeous Saturday and we're going to our granddaughter's birthday party later this afternoon. Thought I'd take a minute to post the Father's Day card I've been working on. I wanted it to have lots of texture and I think I've finally gotten it the way I want it. We'll be making this one at the workshop in May. I used my Cricut Birthdays and Beyond cartridge for the "Dad". The Cricut Wildcard cartridge was used for the celery green argyle background overlay, and I used the George cartridge for the rust colored diamond shapes. I ran the diamond shapes, as well as the cream colored background, through my crimper. That gave the card the texture I was hoping for. The gold mini brads gave the card a little "manly" bling as well as more texture. Masculine cards take a little more time and thought. You don't want them to be too cutesey or look feminine in any way. Got to run and fix DH some lunch. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings, ~M~

Rebel's Money Card

Hi guys, we're having typical Spring weather. Yesterday was beautiful, sunny and 70 degrees. Today is windy, rainy and a forecast high of 58 degrees. I know we need the rain to make the flowers grow, so I won't complain. Our red and yellow tulips are getting ready to bloom and they are going to be gorgeous. I'll be sure to post a photo when they open. Our azaleas (did I spell that right?) are small, but covered with hot pink blooms. Absolutely beautiful!
My DDIL calls my middle granddaughter "Rebel". Tomorrow is her 14th birthday. What do you give a teenager for her birthday? MONEY! I decided to try making a money card, and this is what I came up with. The white band with the stamped butterfly, acts as a closure, since the card doesn't come in an envelope. If you wanted to mail this card, it will easily fit inside a #10 (business size) envelope. The inside bottom of the card folds up to hold the money, check or gift card. Cut a half circle along the center of the top of the fold, with a 1/2 " round punch to make removing the money easier. Hope "Rebel" likes her card, but I know she'll like the money... LOL! Have a great Friday!
Blessings, ~M~

Lotsa Dots Note Card

Good morning! It's a beautiful Spring day here. The sun is shining and we're supposed to reach 70 degrees this afternoon. Bring it on! Here is a little note card I worked on while DH watched John Wayne in "Sands of Iwo Jima". Another "guy" movie. I bought the music note stamp, not knowing what I was going to do with it...just thought it was cute. I think it's just right for a note card. Have a great day, everyone. Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings! ~M~
