Paper Cutz Challenge # 2

Good morning guys!

Challenge #2 at Paper Cutz is to make a card, LO or craft project using a critter. I chose this adorable little donkey from Sewn Together Digi Stamps. I just love his sad little face. He reminds me of Eeyore. I colored him using MCPT and cut him out and mounted him on foam tape. The cardstock is Martha Stewart and the daisies are from K & Company. The ribbon is from my stash and I used a white gel pen for the doodling.

Make something with a critter this week guys and enter challenge #2 at Paper Cutz. There's another great prize!

Thanks for stopping by...TGIF!

Up to My Eyeballs in Cabbage!!!

Hi guys,

My husband's garden is seriously infringing on my cardmaking time. Last night he brought in 6 of the biggest cabbage I've ever seen, and a bushel of tomatoes! I've spent all morning blanching and freezing cabbage and I'm still not done...3 more to go. I guess tomorrow, before I go to work, I'll be working on the tomatoes. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the good Lord has blessed us with all this food. DH is planning to dig up his potatoes today or tomorrow and soon the peas will be ready. We have been abundantly blessed. But when do I make cards?!! Looks like I'll be making them during the night instead of sleeping! If you start seeing some strange looking creations, you'll know why, lol!

Have a great day ya'll...you know what I'll be doing!
Hugs,
Mary

"S" Fold Miki Birthday

Hi guys!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was very busy and went way too fast, as usual. I now have 28 quarts of the tomatoes from dh's garden, processed and in the freezer, ready for soup and chili this winter. Yum! We'll soon have corn, potatoes and peas ready, so I'm going to be an extremely busy woman very shortly!

My card today is an "S" fold done with HOTP patterned papers and the embellies are from Martha Stewart. The adorable little monkey, named Miki, is from Angela, one of our design team members at Paper Cutz Challenge. She has designed a line of digital stamps called Sewn Together, and you can go take a peek at her other darling little critters and purchase them for download here. I'm afraid my coloring doesn't do him justice. I'm not very good at coloring with markers...haven't had my Copic class yet. I used my Bic markers and he got a little darker than I wanted. The recipient won't care though. It's for one of my gs's who has a birthday in September, and he loves monkies. You can't tell from the photo, but I cut him out and mounted him on foam tape for dimension. All of Angela's critters are so cute. You can see how she's used them on her cards at Sew Many Cards. Go take a look!

Thanks for stopping in today and don't forget to enter your pink and green card, LO or craft project at Paper Cutz Challenge!
Hugs,
Mary

Paper Wishes Christmas in July Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone!

The first challenge at Paper Cutz Challenge is having great participation so far! Thanks so much to all of you who are entering your pink and green creations. They're all wonderful and it's going to be very hard to pick a winner! I'm glad there are 6 other design team members to help with the decision.

Fab at the Paper Wishes Message Board challenged everyone to come up with a Christmas card and post it on July 25th. Christmas in July! There have been some fantastic cards and layouts posted. You should go over and check them out. There are some really creative papercrafters over there and I've enjoyed getting to know them and seeing their awesome cards and lo's.

Anyhoo, this card was made with Paper Pizazz papers and the Christmas trees were cut using the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge, then dipped in crystal glitter and mounted on foam tape. The snowflake eyelets and ribbon came from my stash and I used my Martha Stewart border punch on the bottom of the blue paper. HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas!

Hope ya'll have a wonderful Sunday! Thanks for coming by and all your wonderful comments! I really appreciate everyone of them.

Paper Cutz Challenge # 1

Hi guys,

Hope you're all having a good Friday. I'm so excited! Paper Cutz Challenge # 1 is finally here!

The first challenge is to make a card, layout or craft project using pink and green.
Here is my pink and green card cut with Cricut's Wild Card cartridge. I used 2 different EK Success punches to cut the pink and lavender flowers and a Martha Stewart branch punch for the green ferns. The white brads and ribbon are from my stash and I also used clear crystal glitter on the flowers. I inked the edges of the card with archival brown ink to give it the look of an old doily.

I hope you'll go over to Paper Cutz Challenge and take a look at the design team's fantastic examples, and join in the challenge! There's a great prize for the challenge winner! See you over there!

Have a great day and thanks for checking in!

Birthday Card 4 U

Hi everybody,
Tomorrow's the day! The first challenge at Paper Cutz Challenge blog. The design team has completed their cards and they're ready to be posted tomorrow with the announcement of the first challenge. We'll have another announcement about some exciting design team news and you'll also be finding out what the prize is for the winner of our first challenge. We're so excited!! Make sure you check back tomorrow!

One of my grandson's, Tyler, has a birthday this weekend and I was able to take a minute and make this card for him. The ice cream cone was cut using Cricut's Doodlecharms cartridge and all the glitter paper is from Martha Stewart. Love glitter paper! The blue polka dotted paper is the back side of the striped glitter paper. The number and letter are from the George cartridge. I think this is the perfect card for a summer birthday. Hope Tyler likes it.

Thanks for stopping by everyone and I'll see you over at Paper Cutz Challenge tomorrow!

Victorian Friend

Good morning!
Well, here it is Tuesday and only 3 days left until our very first challenge at Paper Cutz Challenge. I've seen a couple of the design team's cards and they are great...can't wait for you to see them!
I decided to do something different. I've had this paper and victorian image from HOTP for a while now and finally decided to use it. The pearls are from Martha Stewart and the ribbon is from American Crafts. I love the softness of the roses on the patterned paper. The border was cut with my MS border punch.
Thanks for stopping by everyone. Have a great day!
Blessings,
Mary

Christmas in July Wednesday ~ Holly Card

Good morning!

It's kinda grey and gloomy outside today, but no rain. It would be a good day to stay inside with the A/C and a good book or maybe make some cards. Wish I could, but I have to go to work...ugh!

Here is my card for this week's Christmas in July Wednesday. It's a very simple little card that I made a while back. I actually got out my sizzix holly die and used my Big Shot to cut out the holly leaves. Don't know if you can see it, but I put faux stitching around each leaf. The berries are mini brads. The red and tan gingham cardstock is from Paper Loft and the ribbon is from my stash. Better get started on your holiday cards...Christmas is just around the corner...ho, ho, ho!

Have a good one everybody and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Mary

I'd love it if you'd join in the fun, AND I'm still looking for design team members! Just leave a comment with a link to your card, by midnight next Thursday, July 16th. Video Tutorial # 10 Mini Tag Album

Hi guys,
Hope you all had a great 4th! As the weatherman predicted, we had lots of rain. We had to watch the fireworks in the car with the windshield wipers going, lol! The rain clouds were so low that we could only see the bottom half of the fireworks when they exploded. It was definitely a fireworks display like I've never seen before!

I made this little mini tag album video earlier today. The papers are from DCWV and the ribbon from my stash. You can get the binder rings at an office supply store and sometimes Walmart has them. The size needs to be from 3/4" to 1". Hope you enjoy the video. Thanks so much for watching and taking time out of your day to stop by!
Have a great Sunday!
Blessings,
Mary

God Bless America ~ Happy 4th!

Happy Independence Day!

Hope you're all enjoying your day and the weather is great where you are. Unfortunately, we have an 80% chance for thunderstorms. I just hope it doesn't storm during the fireworks. We live about 2 blocks from the city park where they have the fireworks display every year. We are lucky enough to be able to sit in our front yard and see them and hear the music. I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the weather! I found a couple of great videos that are perfect for today and thought I'd share them with you. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
Blessings,
Mary

Hello Little Friend

Happy Friday!

Hope you all had a great day and are ready for tomorrow's fireworks. I was off, but had lots of laundry and cleaning to do. DH brought a cabbage from his garden for me to cook for supper. We had pork chops, baked potatoes, sliced tomatoes, boiled cabbage, cornbread and sweet tea. Yum! After supper I finally had time to make this card. I went online last night and found this little kitty and fish bowl. I colored him using MCPT, and you can't tell from the photo, but I cut him out and mounted him on foam tape. The cardstock is American Traditionals, ribbon is American Crafts, and the blue crystals are from Colorbok.

Have a good night everyone and I'll see you tomorrow!
Blessings,
Mary

Love is like a Butterfly

Hi everyone,

Here is the Cricut Paper Pups card I made this morning. I used cardstock from HOTP and the patterned paper is from DCWV. Brads from Colorbok and ribbon from American Crafts. The flowers were cut using an EK Sucess daisy punch and the sentiment is from a set of stamps I got yesterday at JoAnn's. Don't know if you can tell from the photo, but I used Stickles on the raised wings of the butterfly.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and I hope you'll come back again! I'd love it if you'd leave a comment and tell me you were here. Have a good night!

Hugs,
Mary
